Kayak to the still operational Hudson-Athens Lighthouse or sign up for a guided, private tour when they are offered during the summer months. Constructed in the 1870s, the lighthouse is one of two remaining lighthouses in the Hudson River. Designed in the Second Empire architectural style, the north end of the lighthouse resembles a ship’s bow to protect the lighthouse from ice flows.
