The Light In Our Eyes: Youth Visions of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse
Join the Athens-Coxsackie, Catskill, and Hudson High Schools as they partner with ACC and the Hudson Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society (HALPS) for a special exhibition commemorating the 150th birthday of this historic lighthouse.
Student artwork depicting the lighthouse, the lifeblood of the river, and its rich legends will be on display. In addition, visitors can explore student poetry and creative writing inspired by the classroom experience.
The opening ceremony features student readings of their works alongside a captivating monologue delivered by an actor, portraying the life of Augustin Fresnel, the ingenious mind behind the revolutionary lens technology used in lighthouses around the world.
