Join us on Saturday, November 22nd at 3pm at Beattie Powers Place for an afternoon of classical music. In this final chamber concert of the season, Eric Finbarr Carey, Tenor and Erika Switzer, Pianist perform works by Schubert, Poulenc and Britten.
Praised for his “silken tenor” (Opera News), Eric Finbarr Carey opens the 2025/26 season with debuts at Opéra de Limoges, Catapult Opera, Dartmouth, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He also appears in Messiah across the U.S., gives recitals with Erika Switzer, and recently won first prize in the 2025 Clermont-Auvergne Opéra Competition. This summer, he performed at the Marlboro Music Festival with Jonathan Biss and Lydia Brown.
Erika Switzer is an acclaimed pianist known for her collaborations in major venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and the Spoleto Festival. Praised for her “deep, intelligent, and captivating” performances, she has won top awards in international competitions and spent formative years performing in Germany. A champion of art song, Switzer co-founded Sparks & Wiry Cries to promote new works and present the songSLAM festival in NYC. She regularly performs with top singers, including baritone Tyler Duncan, and teaches at Bard College and the Bard Conservatory of Music.
