Catskills Irish Arts Week
Catskills Irish Arts Week is a premier summer celebration of Irish culture held each July in East Durham, coined the “ Emerald Isle of the Catskills.” This week-long immersive cultural celebration brings together musicians, dancers, and cultural enthusiasts for a week of traditional Irish music classes, Irish dance instruction, and hands-on workshops, offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity to step away from the pace of city life and experience authentic Irish culture right here in East Durham in the scenic Great Northern Catskills—no trip to Ireland required! Led by accomplished instructors from Ireland and the United States, the program features daily lessons, evening concerts, lively Ceili dances, and informal music sessions that showcase the vibrant traditions of East Durham’s Irish heritage. The week concludes with a festive community celebration highlighting Irish music, dance, and culture in the Great Northern Catskills.
