The Athens Cultural Center (ACC) is thrilled to announce the return of its Summer Music Series, a free four-concert lineup that celebrates the diverse sounds of the Hudson Valley. Held at Night School and Athens Riverfront Park, the series invites audiences to experience rising and established artists in beautiful, intimate settings—all under the summer sky.
The series begins June 21 at Night School with Hudson Valley native Ciarra Fragale, whose nostalgic yet fresh indie pop blends emotive vocals, angular guitars, and steady beats. On July 19 at Night School, Hen in the Foxhouse, the lo-fi project of Honduran American composer Elena Sophia Krell, brings an eclectic sound shaped by her roots in opera and academia. On August 16, The Goddess Party transforms Riverfront Park with an immersive performance featuring over 30 women, a rock band, and a powerful fusion of theater, art, and music. Closing the season on September 20 at the Riverfront Park is The Big Takeover, a seven-piece band led by Jamaican-born singer Nee Nee Rushie, whose genre-blending grooves-infused ska, soul, reggae, and pop with undeniable joy.
Alongside these concerts, Hudson Valley youth are invited to artist Q&A sessions and open sound checks—offering a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creative process.
