Wild Color Workshop with Lou Thorne

    • Sat, 06/20/2026
  • 4 Maude Adams Road, Tannersville, NY 12485

Sat Jun 20, 2026 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This workshop offers an introduction to discovering color in the natural world around us. Participants will explore the Arboretum landscape to identify wild materials suitable for creating artist pigments, practice ethical foraging, and learn how to transform these materials into art supplies such as inks and paints. A variety of techniques and outcomes will be explored, guided by participant interests and the materials available.

Lou Thorne is a multidisciplinary artist and pigment worker whose practice centers on collaborations with hyper-local materials often considered invasive, abundant, or otherwise overlooked.

Registration is required. Admission is free for members and $10 (suggested donation) for non-members.
