Blossom Dearie (1924–2009) was an American jazz singer, pianist, and composer known for her light, girlish voice and sophisticated style. Born in East Durham, New York, she began her career in the 1940s, first performing with vocal groups like the Blue Flames and the Blue Reys before moving to Paris in the 1950s, where she gained international acclaim.

Dearie was a fixture of the cool jazz scene, admired for her impeccable phrasing, witty interpretations, and understated piano playing. She recorded with Verve Records and later founded her own label, Daffodil Records. Over her decades-long career, she became a favorite among jazz aficionados and fellow musicians alike, blending charm, intelligence, and musical precision into every performance.
