Join museum education staff to create natural dyes out of foraged winter plants inspired by natural dye methods of the 19th century. Each participant will receive fabric for dyeing and materials to make a hand-dyed ribbon for a decorative door swag to ring in the new year. While dyes are simmering, participants can enjoy a tour of the historic artist studio and Main House and a hot beverage.
This workshop will take place in the historic Storehouse adjoining Thomas Cole’s original painting studio. All ages welcome; some hot materials will be in use.
