Second Saturday: Sketching Trees with Museum Educators

    • Sat, 10/11/2025
  • 218 Spring St, Catskill, NY 12414

Join us at Thomas Cole Site on Saturday, October 11th, 11am-1pm for another Second Saturday. In this drawing workshop, participants will explore the gardens and grounds to observe and sketch the site’s trees, then join museum educators for a close look at On Trees: Georgia O’Keeffe and Thomas Cole to discover how trees inspired both artists.

Second Saturdays are a series of monthly making activities from May through December that engage the public with the themes of the Thomas Cole Site's historic property and special exhibitions on view.

The 2025 Second Saturdays offer hands-on activities with community partners and museum educators inspired by the art of Emily Cole (1843–1913), on the occasion of the special exhibition, Emily Cole: Ceramics, Flora, & Contemporary Practices, on view May 3–November 2, 2025, and spotlight presentation, On Trees: Georgia O'Keeffe and Thomas Cole.
