R'Ville Stage Creations presents The Laramie Project at Bridge Street Theatre, June 19–21.
Created by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project, this acclaimed documentary play is based on more than 200 interviews conducted following the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard. Through the voices of over 60 real people, portrayed by a cast of eight actors, The Laramie Project explores how a community responds to tragedy, prejudice, compassion, and healing.
More than 25 years after its premiere, this powerful and thought-provoking work remains one of the most influential and frequently produced plays in contemporary American theatre.
Performances take place Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets: $30 Adults / $25 Students
