Saturdays 10 -11:15am with Carl Thomsen & Barbara Schofield Thomsen
Qigong (pronounced “chi gong”) was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It uses gentle exercises to optimize energy in the body, mind, and spirit, supporting overall health and well-being. Qigong includes both psychological and physical elements and focuses on regulating the mind, breath, and body through movement and posture. Often associated with Tai Chi, Qigong is its precursor.
Suitable for all ages, Qigong is especially beneficial for mature adults or those who are physically challenged, as it is slow, accessible, and easy to follow. Participants may practice while seated in a chair. It is also excellent for improving balance and coordination. Each class concludes with an optional 15-minute meditation to support mindfulness, concentration, self-awareness, and relaxation.
No registration required. Cost is a sliding scale of $5–$15, paid in person. Class schedule updates and occasional cancellations will be shared by instructors via email; to receive updates, ask to be added to the mailing list.
