Join us for Palatable Gay Robot, a fast-paced, razor-sharp 70-minute comedy you won’t want to miss.
Meet Billie Bowtie—a gay robot built to entertain straight audiences. Programmed for “crowd-friendly” laughs, Billie quickly discovers his factory-installed jokes aren’t enough. With guidance from The Moderator (voiced by Broadway’s Julia Murney), a god-like engineer who downloads a personal history to humanize his act, Billie’s simple reboot becomes a full-blown identity crisis.
As he navigates a corporate world wired with heteronormative expectations, Billie begins to question his programming, his purpose, and what it truly means to be gay. Blending sharp wit, emotional depth, and biting social commentary, this bold new work explores authenticity, performance, and the cost of being palatable.
Directed by Zachary Prince │ Produced by Klif Entertainment
The play is part of Bridge Street Theatre's 6th annual SoloFest. Three incredible performances created by Broadway, Local, and Academy-Award-Winning Performers.
