Join certified mushroom foraging guide Meghan Hetfield for a fascinating walk through the world of fungi—from wild mushroom identification to cultivation techniques. Discover the magic of mycelial networks, learn how to spot and identify local mushrooms, and explore the nutritional and medicinal benefits of these extraordinary organisms. Anna Plattner of Wild Hudson Valley will lead a tour of their outdoor mushroom cultivation site, where you’ll get hands-on insight into growing edible and medicinal mushrooms—and even have a chance to taste them!
About the Guide:
Meghan Hetfield is certified in mushroom and food safety and is a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist. She works in the addiction and harm reduction field and credits fungi and plant medicine as key parts of her own wellness journey. Meghan is passionate about helping others explore their personal path to healing and mental well-being.
