Medicine Walk with Mohican Herbalist Misty Cook

    • Sat, 07/12/2025
  • 408 Lake Mills Road, Cairo, NY 12431

Saturday, July 12th 3-5 pm

For generations, the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Indians have relied on plant-based medicines for healing and wellness. This deep knowledge has been preserved and passed down through oral tradition, ensuring that future generations can continue to honor and practice these ways. After being displaced from their Hudson Valley homeland following the American Revolution, the Mohican people were relocated west, with their tribal government now based in Wisconsin and additional descendants living in Ontario and Oklahoma.

Misty Cook, a member of the Mohican Nation, has spent years studying traditional medicines. During a special visit from the reservation in Wisconsin to her ancestral homeland, Misty will join us at the farm to share her knowledge. The event includes an educational presentation followed by a guided walk through the woods and meadows to identify and discuss medicinal plants in their natural environment.

Please Note:
Advance registration is required, and space is limited. All proceeds from registration will go directly to Misty and her family to support their time and travel.
