Forest Farm Tour with Wild Hudson Valley

    • Sun, 07/13/2025
  • 408 Lake Mills Road, Cairo, NY 12431

Sunday, July 13th 10 am - 12 pm

Join us for an immersive field trip to Wild Hudson Valley, where we'll explore the world of forest farming with owners Anna Plattner and Justin Wexler. Learn about their diverse practices as we tour their shiitake mushroom laying yard, woods-grown forest botanicals, and a demonstration plot for wild-simulated ginseng. Along the way, we’ll identify wild edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms that Anna and Justin steward and sustainably harvest as part of their forest-based farming operation.

Wild Hudson Valley is a forest farm and educational hub nestled in the Catskills. This husband-and-wife team manages large-scale ginseng plantings, a native fruit and nut orchard, and thriving populations of forest and meadow botanicals. Through their Eco Camp, they offer overnight stays, workshops, and guided nature walks throughout the summer. They also provide planting stock for ginseng, ramps, and other forest botanicals.

Registration Details:
