Join us for Family Tour & Play—a special opportunity to experience the Thomas Cole National Historic Site during quiet morning hours designed with families in mind. This program offers a relaxed, welcoming environment perfect for children ages 10 and under (accompanied by an adult), as well as first-time museum visitors of all ages.
What to Expect:
Enjoy early access to the site before regular hours
Take a closer look at select artworks from our collections and current special exhibition
Practice sketching with guidance from museum educators in the galleries
Play and explore in the historic Kitchen Garden and Flower Garden

The Thomas Cole National Historic Site is the former home of Hudson River School of Art founder, Thomas Cole. Located in the village of Catskill, the house, called Cedar Grove, and Cole's studio are open for tours, events, and workshops throughout the year.
