Exhibition opening - Emily Cole & Valerie Hegarty: Life Cycles

    • Fri, 03/13/2026
  • 218 Spring St, Catskill, NY 12414

Friday, March 13th

Celebrate the opening of Emily Cole & Valerie Hegarty: Life Cycles with art, light refreshments, and great company from 4:30–6 pm. All are welcome—we invite you to consider becoming a member in support of future exhibitions and programs.

The exhibition presents a cross-century dialogue between 19th-century artist Emily Cole and contemporary artist Valerie Hegarty. On view in the Sitting Room Gallery of the 1815 Main House, the exhibition pairs more than 30 painted porcelains and works on paper by Cole with Hegarty’s site-specific mixed-media installation, Emily Cole and Her Father, My Mother and Me, created in 2025 for the Thomas Cole Site. The show explores artistic inheritance, family ties, and shared fascinations with the cycles of life.
