The Bronck Museum welcomes Greene County Historian Jonathan Palmer on Sunday August 17th at 2 pm for Gamble in the Mountains: The Story of the Canajoharie and Catskill Railway. Discover the curious tale of the first railroad in the Catskills—organized in 1830—and the competing visions that shaped the region’s economic future.

Palmer’s talk offers a fascinating glimpse into the economic, social, and political changes that swept the Hudson Valley during the age of Jackson. This hour-long program invites questions and discussion from attendees.

The event will be held outdoors on the grounds of the Bronck Museum, 90 County Route 42, Coxsackie, NY. Suggested donation: $10.
