Saturday, October 4th at 12 pm
Celebrate the creativity of local students with an exhibition of tree-inspired paintings, drawing from On Trees: Georgia O’Keeffe and Thomas Cole. From 12–3 pm, enjoy a family-friendly reception with local vendors, snacks, and art activities.
At 2 pm, don’t miss Riparian Rhapsody, a puppet theater extravaganza by the award-winning Arm-of-the-Sea Theater. This imaginative performance explores Catskill ecology, revealing the vital relationship between forest and stream while making a lyrical case for protecting streamside buffer zones.
Founded in 1982, Arm-of-the-Sea blends visual storytelling, live music, masks, and puppetry into dynamic performances that illuminate the ties between humans and the natural world.
This program is made possible with support from Art Bridges.
The Thomas Cole National Historic Site is the former home of Hudson River School of Art founder, Thomas Cole. Located in the village of Catskill, the house, called Cedar Grove, and Cole's studio are open for tours, events, and workshops throughout the year.
