Join us at the Agroforestry Resource Center for a hands-on workshop exploring air-pruned raised beds (APRBs)—elevated nursery systems that promote healthy root development, improve transplant success, and are ideal for propagating nut-bearing and other deep taproot tree species.
The workshop begins with a brief presentation on the principles of air pruning, design considerations, and species selection, followed by a hands-on session where participants will build and plant a raised bed using native nut trees. By the end, you’ll have seen a fully planted APRB ready for seasonal growth and gained a clear understanding of how these systems work.
