FREE Wi-Fi Terms and Conditions

Wi-Fi SIGN-UP/ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

The Wi-Fi is provided by Greene County, who shall hereinafter be referred to as "we" and/or "us", with its registered office located at 411 Main Street Catskill, New York 12414.

By using this Wi-Fi, you (“user”), agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Wi-Fi.

The use of this Wi-Fi is subject to this Acceptable Use Policy.

Any personal information you supply to us will be used in the manner set forth in our Privacy Policy. Please be aware, we use a variety of technical means to enable user authentication which may include cookies. We will also use information from your usage of the Wi-Fi for service monitoring and improvement purposes. By using Greene County provided Wi-Fi, you agree to:

• Act lawfully – Wi-Fi user shall not act in any way that may be deemed unlawful or encourage others to act in any manner that may be deemed unlawful. In particular, Wi-Fi user shall not infringe, knowingly or unknowingly, upon any property right(s), intellectual or otherwise, and shall not reveal confidential or sensitive information and shall not engage in any criminal offence or encourage others to do so.

• Act responsibly – Wi-Fi user shall not undertake any action(s) which may be deemed discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, threatening, bullying, obscene, abusive, racist, sexist, offensive or otherwise illegal, objectionable or inappropriate. Wi-Fi user shall not impersonate or otherwise pretend to be anyone other than himself/herself. Wi-Fi user shall not collect email addresses or other personal details or use the Wi-Fi to send spam.

• Act reasonably – Wi-Fi user shall not use Wi-Fi access in any way which may affect the functionality of the Wi-Fi or network or other technology connected to it (for example, other Wi-Fi users’ devices). In particular, and without limitation, the Wi-Fi user shall not upload or download very large files and shall make sure his/her device is protected by up-to-date anti-virus software.

We do not charge you for using the Greene County provided Wi-Fi. User understands and acknowledges that sometimes, due to technical, legal, operational or other reasons, Wi-Fi may not be available. We may also control the types of material that can be sent or received over the Wi-Fi. The County of Greene, may at its sole option, for any and all reason, suspend your access to Greene County provided Wi-Fi, without any obligation to you. Your use of the Greene County provided Wi-Fi is at your own risk and we are not responsible to you for any damages, losses, costs or expenses you may suffer because the Wi-Fi is unavailable and/or does not operate as expected or causes loss or damage to any data.

You are responsible to us for all damage, losses, costs or expenses suffered by Greene County arising out of any breach by you of these rules, (for example, if you use the Wi-Fi for copyright infringement or to commit a criminal offence), including, and without limitation, reasonable attorney fees. You agree to indemnify and hold the County of Greene harmless as relates to any claim(s) or action(s) that may arise related to your use of Greene County provided Wi-Fi.

User acknowledges and agrees that Greene County may disclose information about you (for example, your IP address or the email address you provided when accessing the Wi-Fi) in the event that we or another user is involved in and/or subject to any claim or request for information about your use of the Wi-Fi.
