Sunday Night Swim Presents: Grains of Euphoria / Music for Furniture

Sunday Night Swim is a monthly ambient music series offering free entry, with donations welcomed and donated to local charities on a rotating basis.

Grains of Euphora, featuring Bradford Reed and Ryder Cooley, weaves strings, reeds, keys, bows, and steel into euphoric, immersive soundscapes filled with pizzicato patterns and improvisation that respond to the room’s energy.

This electro-acoustic duo blends the haunting tones of bowed saw with the harmonic overtones of the Pencilina—an instrument invented by Reed—flowing through reedy accordion drones and back to the saw’s ethereal moans, creating a sound both symphonic and wild.

Bradford Reed is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and inventor of the Pencilina, drawing inspiration from Indonesian Gamelan and Korean Kayagum music, with credits including King Missile III, The Blue Man Group, and TV/film scoring; he currently performs with The Dirt Whisperers and Order of The Illusive.

Ryder Cooley is an interdisciplinary artist and musician known for her accordion and singing saw work, founder of Dust Bowl Faeries, and carries on a family legacy with her grandmother’s piano accordion.
