Poetry Potluck is for anyone who loves poetry. Bring a favorite poem by another author—something that moves or inspires you—or just come to listen. We’ll read our selections aloud, exploring themes like tree, shrub, grass, flower, weather, water, wood, stone, dirt, sky, air, animal, color, season, life, and death. Weather permitting, we’ll gather outdoors.
Mermer Blakeslee, author of three novels and a nonfiction book, has a lifelong passion for poetry. She believes a good poem is as essential as food and works to share accessible, soulful poetry with those who may feel they “don’t like” it because of past school experiences.
