Let’s start with the basics and build a foundation as we explore the exciting, weird, and fascinating world of fungi. This beginner-friendly primer will help mushroom enthusiasts understand and categorize the specimens they encounter this season, with plenty of photos of species commonly found in the area. No biology or mycology experience is required.

Luke Sarrantonio, a Rosendale, NY native, discovered his passion for fungi at SUNY ESF and has spent over 13 years developing mycology education programs, community projects, and the For the Love of Fungi festival, and a line of functional mushroom products, Mycophilic. He now runs an outdoor mushroom farm and teaching space at Eat Flowers Farm in Accord, NY and serves as co-president of the Mid Hudson Mycological Association.

Registration is free for members and a $10 donation for non-members.
