Hike Kaaterskill Junction
Saturday, October 18th 9 am - 12 pm
Explore the history of the Kaaterskill and Stony Clove Railroad on this approximately 4-mile hike along the mostly level old railroad bed near Kaaterskill Junction on State Route 214. Step back in time as you trace the route from Phoenicia to the Hunter Branch and Tannersville Branch toward Hotel Kaaterskill, with a track plan and historic photographs illustrating the junction and its sidings. Along the way, see the remaining rail ties, visit the Light Dam Bridge over the Schoharie Creek, and enjoy a side excursion to the new Hunter Branch Rail Trail pedestrian bridge.
