Foraging Workshop with Sean Rowe

    • Sun, 06/21/2026

Sun Jun 21, 2026 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

This workshop is designed to connect you with the edible plants growing all around us. Late spring and early summer in the Northeast offer an abundance of wild foods, from nutrient-rich greens like amaranth and common milkweed buds to flavorful fruits such as Asian mulberry and serviceberry.

During this two-hour guided walk, you'll discover the possibilities of foraging in your own landscape. While we won't have time to prepare the plants we encounter, you'll learn the fundamentals of responsible foraging, introductory plant identification skills, and how to recognize some common toxic species so you know what to avoid. Join us for a walk that will deepen your connection to the natural world and help build your confidence in identifying wild edible plants.

From Sean Rowe: My passion for foraging began as a teenager and was shaped through wilderness training, primitive skills study, and mentorship from wild food expert Samuel Thayer. After a 24-day solo survival trek in the Catskills, I devoted myself to exploring wild foods and the deeper connection they create with the natural world. Today, I share that passion through group walks, private classes, and my YouTube channel, helping others discover the adventure and rewards of foraging.
