First Day Hike to Kaaterskill Falls
January 1, 2026 · 10 a.m.–12 p.m. (please arrive 15 minutes early)
Meet at: Front parking lot of the Mountain Top Historical Society campus, 5132 Route 23A, Haines Falls, NY (GPS: 42.194805, -74.092355)
Start the New Year on the right foot with a refreshing 4-mile round-trip hike from the MTHS campus to the stunning Kaaterskill Falls. Enjoy peaceful trails through the Catskill Forest Preserve and the camaraderie of a community walk to welcome 2026.
Difficulty: Mostly flat with minimal incline; suitable for many hiking levels. Benches available around 1.5 miles in.
