Fall Guided Walk with Wild Hudson Valley

    • Sun, 10/05/2025
  • 4 Maude Adams Road, Tannersville, NY 12485

Join us on Sunday, October 5th 1-2:30 pm for a guided walk with Justin Wexler.

Centuries ago, Lunaapee communities made seasonal trips to follow the land’s abundance—spring along Hudson tributaries for spawning fish, summer in floodplain villages by maize crops, autumn collecting nuts and hunting, and winter for bears and storytelling. Join ethnoecologist Justin Wexler of Wild Hudson Valley for a seasonal walk exploring local flora, fauna, and ecosystems, while learning about local native people, languages, and folklore.

A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Justin has spent decades studying Algonquian languages, history, and folklore, sharing his knowledge through research, teaching, and public programs. He holds a BA in History and Anthropology, a Professional Certificate in Environmental Policy, and an MA in Teaching from Bard College.
