Earth Day Tree Planting at Siuslaw Model Forest
Celebrate Earth Day by joining a hands‑on tree‑planting event on April 22nd from 5–7 PM at the beautiful Siuslaw Model Forest in Acra.
This conservation and learning experience invites participants of all ages to help strengthen the Bowery Creek ecosystem by planting native trees and shrubs that support erosion control, wildlife habitat, and long‑term flood resilience.
Participants will work alongside Cornell Cooperative Extension educators to creating an ideal Earth Day activity for nature lovers, families, and anyone looking to connect with the outdoors.
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed‑toe shoes suitable for outdoor work. Volunteers can also take home free native seedlings while supplies last, perfect for bringing a little piece of the Catskills back to your own yard.
Discover a meaningful way to celebrate Earth Day, give back to the environment, and explore one of the Great Northern Catskills’ educational forest sites.
