Mountain Areas
The high peaks and ridgelines of Greene County offer some of the finest mountain scenery in the northeastern United States.

Catskill High Peaks
Greene County is home to some of the tallest summits in the Catskill Mountains, including several that top 3,500 feet. The Blackhead Range — Blackhead, Black Dome, and Thomas Cole peaks — forms one of the most challenging and rewarding ridge traverses in New York. To the west, Windham High Peak stands as a sentinel above the Batavia Kill valley, while the Escarpment Trail traces the dramatic eastern edge of the plateau above the Hudson Valley.
