Greene County’s Visitor Center, at 705 Route 23B in Leeds (right off the NYS Thruway at Exit 21), is open daily—8:30–5 weekdays and 9–4 weekends and holidays.

The Mountain Top Historical Society (MTHS), founded in 1973, is a nonprofit dedicated to discovering, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Greene County’s Mountain Top region. Through its programs, MTHS deepens appreciation of the area’s history, geology, literature, culture and folklore.
The MTHS campus, at the top of Kaaterskill Clove in Haines Falls, is open year-round. It features a fully restored 1913 Ulster & Delaware train station, a Hudson River School Art Trail display, a pond, flat walking paths, the picturesque Aaron Haines Family cemetery, and parking and trailhead access for the Kaaterskill Rail Trail. Our Visitors’ Center, with trail information and displays, is open from Memorial Day Weekend through mid-November.
