An Afternoon Tea with Sweet & Savory Treats at the Bronck Houses

Enjoy an afternoon of tea, sweet and savory treats, and cultural enrichment in the historic setting of the Bronck Houses. The event includes a presentation by the Museum Curator, offering guests an opportunity to relax, learn, and enjoy a memorable afternoon inspired by the past.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Early booking is encouraged.

Bronck Museum

A National Historic Landmark and the Hudson Valley’s oldest home. The tour begins with the approach taken by the first European settlers to the development of the American wilderness, and proceeds through the evolution of the Bronck farmstead as the environment, family life, and agricultural practice changed. The content of this year’s walking tours has been drawn together from various museum specialty programs and has never been offered in a single tour. Tour admission is $8 per person. Reservations and payment must be made online. Only those with reservations will be included in tours. Tours are offered at 11 AM and 2 PM on Thursdays and Fridays only. Each tour will be offered to a maximum of 6 participants. This is an outside walking tour, suitable clothing and shoes are recommended and visitors must be able to walk or stand for at least 30 minutes. The site was operated as a working farm by 8 generations of the Bronck Family. The 1663 and 1738 dwellings are furnished with 18th and 19th century art and furniture. The Victorian horse barn has a varied collection of Greene County and Catskill Mountain House memorabilia. The unique 13-sided barn houses a collection of horse drawn vehicles. Talk by Town Historian Ted Hischer: “1776: New Baltimore, The Coxsackie Declaration, and Philip Conine Jr.”

New Baltimore Town Historian Ted Hilscher will present “1776: New Baltimore, The Coxsackie Declaration, and Philip Conine Jr.” on Saturday, September 12, at 2 PM at New Baltimore Town Hall on County Route 51. Hilscher will explore New Baltimore’s early settlement, its connection to Coxsackie until 1811, the contentious revolutionary movement in the Hudson Valley, and the 1775 Coxsackie Declaration. He will also highlight the Revolutionary War activities of local patriot leader Philip Conine. Admission is free and open to the public. The talk is co-sponsored by the Town of New Baltimore, New Baltimore Conservancy, and Greene County Historical Society.
