My American Landscape: A Student Art Exhibition features artwork by 300+ K–12 students from classrooms across Greene, Columbia, Dutchess, and Erie counties, exploring the visual identity of their home landscapes. Inspired by Thomas Cole (1801–1848), students created works reflecting their own interpretations of the American landscape and the places they call home, including Catskill, Cairo, Durham, Coxsackie, Athens, Hudson, Greenville, Hunter, Tannersville, Amenia, Taconic Hills, Grand Island, Mechanicville, and more.
Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, November 14, from 11 AM–2 PM, with live music, food, and activities. Student artists are invited to stop by and collect their participation certificates. This family-friendly event welcomes friends, families, neighbors, and all student supporters.
My American Landscape: A Student Art Exhibition will be on display in the Storehouse adjoining Thomas Cole’s historic painting studio from November 14–December 13, 2026, at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site.
