Open Year-Round! The Mountain Top Historical Society campus at the top of Kaaterskill Clove in Haines Falls is open year-round to the public. Our campus includes a fully restored 1913 Ulster & Delaware train station, Hudson River School Art Trail interpretative display, pond, flat walking paths, adjoining picturesque Aaron Haines Family cemetery, Kaaterskill Rail Trail (KRT) parking and trailhead. We maintain a Visitors’ Center with trail information and displays from Memorial Day Weekend through mid-November. Join us for Cinderella, a new ballet from the Orpheum Dance Program. Based on Charles Perrault’s classic 1697 fairy tale and featuring music by Jules Massenet, this original production blends dance and spoken word to bring the beloved story to life. Thu, July 30 5-6:30 pm Join Laura Chávez Silverman of The Outside Institute for a hands-on workshop exploring how to craft botanical cocktails and spirit-free drinks using foraged ingredients. Learn foraging, preservation, and mixology techniques while creating seasonal beverages with tinctures, bitters, ferments, infusions, and more. Light snacks inspired by seasonal flavors will be served. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Registration is $125 per person. Laura Chávez Silverman is a writer and founding naturalist of The Outside Institute, a Western Catskills-based organization that connects people with nature through guided walks, sustainable foraging, wildcrafting workshops, and regional field guides.
