Homecoming Weekend is back at Hunter Mountain!

Kick off fall in the Great Northern Catskills at Hunter Mountain’s Homecoming Weekend & Ski Swap with a full weekend of mountain fun!

On Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27th riders and visitors can take in Catskills fall foliage aboard the Scenic SkyRide, running both days from 9am to 4pm, then head to the annual Ski Swap on Saturday from 10am to 2pm, with equipment drop-off starting at 9am, for the best deals on gear before the season starts. A live DJ plays Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and the Tap Bar and Scottie’s Food Truck keep guests fed and refreshed all weekend. The Tap Bar opens Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm, and Scottie’s food truck will be serving both days from 11am to 4pm. Check out the sky ride, have some local bites and find some sweet deals on ski gear to kick off your “ber” months in the Great Northern Catskills.

The Railroading History of Kaaterskill Junction: A Hike with Paul LaPierre

Join the Mountain Top Historical Society for a history hike exploring the former Stony Clove and Catskill Mountain Railroad, which once traveled from Phoenicia to the Junction before splitting onto the Hunter and Tannersville branches. Led by Paul LaPierre of the Empire State Railway Museum, the hike follows old railroad beds and includes stops at the Junction, the remains of the Electric Light Dam Bridge over Schoharie Creek, and the new Hunter Branch Rail Trail pedestrian bridge. The 4-mile hike is considered moderate due to its length and terrain. Bring water and snacks. 10 am-2 pm
