Hunter Mountain is considered a four-season destination in the Great Northern Catskills of Greene County, offering challenging terrain and trails for all skill levels. Nine new trails and a new chairlift to get you to more terrain, faster were added last year.

Renowned as the "snowmaking capital of the world," Hunter boasts snowmaking on 100% of the mountain's 320 skiable acres. With a summit elevation of 3,200 feet and a vertical drop of 1,600 feet – Hunter Mountain offers challenging downhill skiing and riding all winter long. Families will enjoy Hunter's kid-friendly activities like snow tubing on nine 1,000-foot-long chutes plus engaging ski and riding schools.

During the summer months from Memorial Day through Columbus day enjoy the scenic  Hunter Mountain Scenic Skyride to the summit, an 11 minute ride up 3200 feet. Off-road adventures for touring vehicles are available all year, and annual festivals celebrate the best of the outdoors, music, food and drink.

A Year-Round Destination

Hunter Mountain's alpine ski resort is made up of three separate mountains offering a wide variety of terrain for skiers and riders of all levels. Hunter One boasts green and blue trails for beginner to intermediate skiers, while Hunter Mountain offers a variety of terrain, from easy green to double black diamond. Hunter West rounds out the resort's terrain with expert-only black and double black diamond trails.

For beginners, many of Hunter's wide cruising lanes provide the ideal conditions for skiers and riders just starting to link their turns. Twelve lifts, including a six passenger chair lift called the Kaatskill Flyer and two new carpet lifts for kids -"Frosty Land 1" and "Frosty Land 2"- located in the Hunter One Learning Zone area, transport eager alpinists from base to summit while minimizing lift line wait times. Hunter Mountain ski packages provide a great way to save on your winter fun this season.

Hunter's top-notch snow sports program offers a variety of specialized options for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders of all ages. From progression-sessions, private lessons, women's-only clinics, Junior competition teams, park workshops and more, Hunter has a snow sports program for everyone!

Summer in the Catskill Mountains is an enchanting and magical time, full of adventure and even a little mystery. Hike or ride to the summit and discover the hand-hewn statue of Rip Van Winkle, the literary legend, brought to life by Washington Irving only to fall into a 20 year slumber after a run in with Henry Hudson and some nine-pins.
