Preserving and protecting significant natural and cultural resources in Greene County.
The Greene Land Trust's mission is to preserve and protect significant natural and related cultural resources in and around Greene County, New York. The Trust’s goal is to provide substantial public benefit in identifying and protecting important resources while promoting an effective balance between sound development and long-range natural resource protection.
The Greene Land Trust, established in 2004, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to land conservation. It was formed in response to habitat concerns raised during development of the Greene Business and Technology Park, leading to the donation of over 300 acres to create the Coxsackie Creek Grassland Preserve. Today, that preserve spans over 400 acres, and GLT protects more than 1,000 acres of forest, farmland, and wetlands across the region.
