Escarpment Trail at North-South Lake
23.9 mile hike along the Long Path in the Great Northern Catskills
A challenging 23.9 mile hike that makes for a great 3-day backpack trip. Access the trailhead on Scutt Road off North-South Lake Road in Haines Falls. If hiking the entire trail, be sure to leave one car at one end of the trail in East Windham for convenience.
Follow the blue marked trail to see some of the most scenic areas of the Catskill Mountains travelling up summits over 3000′ high, including Blackhead Mountain with heights of 3940′.
From North-South Lake Park to Boulder Rock, Catskill Mountain House, Artist Rock, and Sunset Rock.
