Animal Bodies: Poetry Reading

Inspired by the exhibition Elana Herzog: Ripped, Tangled, and Frayed, this special evening features poets Brenda Coultas and Eleni Sikelianos reading works that explore themes of memory, repair, threads, and connection. The event celebrates Herzog’s collaborative project Animal Bodies and brings together two acclaimed writers whose work reflects many of the ideas explored in the exhibition. Sikelianos will read from her latest memoir, Memory Rehearsal (2026), which weaves together family history, art, and the legacy of master weaver Eva Palmer-Sikelianos.

Magic on the River – Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Annual Fundraiser

Sunday, August 2, 12-2pm Guests will gather at The River Garden in Athens for an afternoon of live music, entertainment, delicious food and cocktails, a silent auction, and special performances by Dustbowl Faeries, Peter Daniel Straus, and Jim Snacks. Proceeds from tickets and sponsorships support the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society’s ongoing mission to restore, preserve, and share the lighthouse’s rich maritime history for future generations.
