Join us at Scribner's for an evening with author Casey Scieszka celebrating her debut novel, The Fountain, moderated by Gabriella Valladares in The Rounds at the Apex Lodge.

The Scribner’s Book Club is a year-round invitation to connect through literature. Throughout the year, we spotlight a thoughtfully chosen title, culminating in an in-person event at the Lodge with the author.

This season’s pick is The Fountain by Casey Scieszka, a moving and imaginative debut novel set in the Catskills that blends magical realism, mystery, romance, and historical fiction. Following Vera Van Valkenburgh, an immortal woman returning home after nearly two centuries in search of answers, The Fountain explores what it means to live forever and what truly gives life meaning.

We’re excited to welcome Casey to the Lodge for a live Q&A moderated by Gabriella Valladares on Monday, June 29. The event will take place at The Rounds in the Apex Lodge. Doors open at 5 PM, with the Q&A beginning at 6 PM. The bar will be open throughout the evening, so guests are encouraged to arrive early, grab a drink, and settle in before the discussion begins.

Following the event, guests will have the option to join Casey and Gabi for dinner at Prospect. Please note that dinner is not included and availability is limited.
