OktoBEARfest returns to Bearpen Mountain Sports

October 10, 2026, from 12–7pm.

Join Bearpen Mountain for the 3rd Annual OktoBEARfest, a free fall celebration with hiking, live music, German dancing, local beer and cider, food, games, raffles, and prizes. Enjoy the mountain’s trails throughout the day, then take part in the Corn Hole Tournament, Best Dressed Bavarian Contest, and Stein Holding Competition. Live music will be provided by Bernie’s Orchestra and Ron & Cue, with traditional German dancing by Germania Almrausch. Food and beverage tickets, beer steins, and merchandise will be available for purchase.

Dogs are welcome, but must be kept outdoors and on a leash

Painting the Day: A Community Plein Air Event

Join us for the second annual Painting the Day Community Celebration at Athens Riverfront Park! Inspired by the rich history of the Hudson River School of Art and held in memory of beloved local artist Jim Cramer, this community gathering welcomes artists and art lovers of all ages to “paint the day” with artwork inspired by nature and the historic charm of the Village of Athens. Enjoy a live plein air demonstration, a children’s art area with water-based paints and drawing supplies, and refreshments served at noon. Subversive Oktoberfest 2026

Starting October 1, grab a 2026 half-liter mug for $20 with your first fill, then bring it back all month for half-liter fills at pint prices. Enjoy German-inspired food specials throughout October, including schnitzel sandwiches, German potato salad, giant pretzels and a new Bavarian burger with Muenster, sauerkraut and Bavarian mustard. Festbier arrives October 1, followed by a traditional German gravity keg tapping for First Friday on October 2. Oktoberfest Weekend — October 16–18 For the big weekend, we’ll add even more German-inspired favorites, including bratwurst, spaetzle and Bavarian boards featuring sliced bratwurst, pretzel sticks, beer cheese, mustard, sauerkraut and German potato salad. Then, on Saturday, October 17, the celebration really gets going: Mountain Märzen will be released, along with a traditional German gravity keg tapping. A traditional German band will take over the Beer Garden from 3–6 PM. After the band, The Lager Goblin will keep the celebration going with traditional German music, modern European dance music and more.

Shamrock House Oktoberfest 2026 with DSB die Schlauberger

The fun kicks off Friday with German themed pub trivia at 6:30pm, followed by DJ and karaoke with Pat Del at 9pm. Saturday is the main event, with live entertainment on The Shamrock House’s indoor stage. The Adlers Band opens at 2pm, and Alpenland Taenzer Schuhplattler brings traditional German dancing at 3:30pm and again at 6:30pm. Then comes the moment many have been waiting for. At 7pm, DSB die Schlauberger, billed as America’s #1 German rock band, hits the stage. Wrap up the weekend at the Sunday Session, starting at 1pm.
