Isaac Fitzgerald is a New York Times bestselling author whose memoir Dirtbag, Massachusetts won a New England Book Award. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Esquire, and The Guardian, and he is a frequent contributor to The Today Show.
In his new book, American Rambler, Fitzgerald embarks on a year-long journey tracing the path of Johnny Appleseed from Massachusetts to Indiana. Along the way, he explores grief, faith, and human connection through a series of adventures, mishaps, and encounters with strangers, transforming a childhood fascination into a deeply personal story.
