May 6: Jennifer Acker author of “Surrender” & Adelle Waldman author of “Help Wanted”
Jennifer Acker is the founder and editor in chief of the award-winning literary magazine The Common. Her debut novel, The Limits of the World, was a finalist for the Massachusetts Book Award. Her memoir Fatigue is a #1 Amazon bestseller, and her short fiction and essays have appeared widely. She holds an MFA from Bennington and a BA from Amherst College, where she directs the Literary Publishing Internship and LitFest. Her second novel, Surrender, will be released in April 2026.
Adelle Waldman is the author of Help Wanted (2024) and The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. (2013). Help Wanted was named a best book of 2024 by The Economist, NPR, and Time, and was recommended by Barack Obama. Her debut novel was widely named a best book of 2013. Her work has appeared in major publications including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and The New York Times. She lives in New York and teaches at Columbia University.
