For the past eighteen years, the Blackthorne Resort has proudly hosted Lost Treasure Weekend—a one-of-a-kind gathering for metal detecting enthusiasts. Set in the scenic Catskill Mountains, it’s the perfect getaway for detectorists of all levels, from seasoned pros to newcomers eager to dig in.

Weekend Highlights

Friday Natural Hunt
Arrive early for our exclusive Natural Hunt on Friday morning. We’ll bus participants to historic Catskills properties with special detecting access. With the area’s rich Revolutionary War and War of 1812 history, past finds have included Spanish silver coins, George Washington inaugural buttons, and Colonial coppers.
Midday, enjoy a catered lunch from the Blackthorne kitchen and share your best finds with fellow detectorists. The day wraps up with a special prize for the top discovery.

Seeded Hunts
Throughout the weekend, take part in four seeded hunts across our two-acre event field. Dig for numbered tokens redeemable for incredible prizes—gold and silver coins, Morgan dollars, Indian head pennies, silver certificates, jewelry, proof sets, and more.

Nightlife
