Experience an evening of imaginative storytelling at the Hudson Film Festival with Short Film Showcase 2: “The Unexpected and Unpredictable,” on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the historic Community Theater in Catskill.
Doors open at 7:45 PM, followed by a special pre-show presented by XFR Collective, featuring selections from the Monday/Wednesday/Friday (MWF) Video Club archival tape collection (1980–1985). Created by members of New York City’s influential COLAB artists’ collective, these restored experimental films and public access works offer a fascinating glimpse into the city’s independent arts scene.
The showcase begins at 8:45 PM with a curated collection of short films celebrating unexpected stories, creative perspectives, and innovative filmmaking from emerging and established artists.
After the screening, continue your Hudson Film Festival experience at the Friday Night After Party at The Avalon Lounge from 10-12pm, where you can celebrate with filmmakers and fellow film enthusiasts in the heart of Catskill.
