  • County Route 18, Haines Falls, NY 12436

Experience the magic of twilight in the Great Northern Catskills during the Doubles Hike on the Eve of the Full Moon at North-South Lake Campground on June 29 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This guided evening hike offers a rare opportunity to take in both a stunning sunset and a full moonrise from some of the region’s most scenic viewpoints.

Participants will hike to Sunset Rock to watch the sun dip below the horizon, then continue on to either Lookout Rock or Artist's Rock for a breathtaking view of the full moon rising. The sun is expected to set at 8:37 PM, followed by the moonrise at 8:56 PM.

Led by Ryan Penny of Camp Catskill, this moderate 2.5-mile hike includes some rock scrambles and begins at the eastern parking lot by the beach at North-South Lake.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To reserve your spot, email mthsdirector@mths.org or call 518-589-6657.
