Join the Greene County Historical Society on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Wire Event Center in Coxsackie for an afternoon of history and hors d’oeuvres. Enjoy an opportunity to support the preservation and protection of the Bronck Museum’s architectural heritage while celebrating an exciting milestone: GCHS has been awarded a generous $887,000 matching grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to complete the interior of the Meadow Ridge Heritage Barn.

The afternoon will include a light lunch catered by Che Figata, presentation by Coxsackie Town Historian Michael Rausch, live music from Luke Barnhart, raffles and a live auction.

Bronck Museum

A National Historic Landmark and the Hudson Valley’s oldest home. The tour begins with the approach taken by the first European settlers to the development of the American wilderness, and proceeds through the evolution of the Bronck farmstead as the environment, family life, and agricultural practice changed. The content of this year’s walking tours has been drawn together from various museum specialty programs and has never been offered in a single tour. Tour admission is $8 per person. Reservations and payment must be made online. Only those with reservations will be included in tours. Tours are offered at 11 AM and 2 PM on Thursdays and Fridays only. Each tour will be offered to a maximum of 6 participants. This is an outside walking tour, suitable clothing and shoes are recommended and visitors must be able to walk or stand for at least 30 minutes. The site was operated as a working farm by 8 generations of the Bronck Family. The 1663 and 1738 dwellings are furnished with 18th and 19th century art and furniture. The Victorian horse barn has a varied collection of Greene County and Catskill Mountain House memorabilia. The unique 13-sided barn houses a collection of horse drawn vehicles.
