Arts & Culture

Discover three distinctive artistic perspectives this December at Windham Fine Arts. Gary Ampel’s Red Fox captures the beauty of wildlife through rich color and meticulous detail. Jack Laroux’s Zygmut Bell brings music to life in a vibrant composition inspired by Cubism and stained glass. Joan Mentzinger’s Winter Break celebrates the quiet charm of rural life through a snow-covered tractor and weathered barns. Together, these works offer a lively mix of nature, imagination, and nostalgia.

Orphee Musique

Orphee Musique brings young classical musicians to New York each year to perform seven concerts in seven days. This is a special opportunity for these recent Paris Conservatory graduates to gain experience performing in concert halls, speaking English, and interacting with audiences in the U.S. This year’s performers are Tabea and Daniel Streicher, a brother-and-sister duo. Their musical journey together began in 2009, when years of making music as siblings translated into a natural understanding of one another through music. Shortly after their first attempts at playing together, the young piano duo, then aged five and seven, respectively, entered the 2010 International Steinway Piano Competition in Berlin and won third prize. This early recognition and shared joy of music laid the foundation for their continued collaboration. Alongside their solo repertoire, the two artists continue to expand their duo repertoire and perform regularly, with their passion for ensemble playing and the quality of their collaboration growing with every project. Concerts Friday, November 13 St. Gregory’s Church, Woodstock Saturday, November 14, 3:00 pm Doctorow Center for the Arts, Hunter Sunday, November 15, 1:00 pm Windham Civic & Performing Arts Center, Windham

Custom artwork, in-home installation, and delivery are also available. Come discover art that captures the spirit of the Catskills—and find a piece that feels at home with you. Windham Fine Arts opened the doors of the gallery 25 years ago. Over these years the gallery has become a special place for all of us–our artists, customers, and community. The gallery is also special for those who simply seek inspiration, reflection and peace. We always knew the gallery would attract good people and it has.
