Mountain Top Library

Originally established as the Haines Falls Free Library in 1900, the Mountain Top Library has a long and proud history of serving the community. Once located at 52 North Lake Road in Haines Falls, the library found a new home in 2014 after a nine-year renovation project. It relocated to the heart of the Village of Tannersville, into the former Marian Center building — a circa 1954 Catholic church — and officially became the Mountain Top Library.

Our mission is to disseminate knowledge by offering access to information, literature, history, and communication services. We strive to enrich our community through educational, cultural, and recreational programming that reflects the interests and needs of the Mountain Top region. Our programs are designed to educate, entertain, inspire, and connect people of all ages.

As an Association Library, we rely on the generosity of donors and the support of our community to meet our operating expenses and sustain our growth. Our goal is to remain a vibrant, enduring institution at the heart of Tannersville and the greater Mountain Top community.
