Upcoming Exhibition: In This Here Place, We Flesh
July 19th - October 4th 2025
In This Here Place, We Flesh, curated by Maty Sall, brings together artists Aineki Traverso, Nkechi Ebubedike, and Shiri Mordechay to explore the human body as a shifting landscape where memory, myth, and identity intersect. Inspired by Baby Suggs’s invocation in Toni Morrison’s Beloved, the exhibition centers the body as a vessel of transformation—shaped by ancestral memory, emotional weight, and the ongoing search for autonomy and spiritual wholeness.
Rather than simply depicting the body, the artists reimagine it as fluid, fragmented, and porous—open to history, shaped by place, and rich with resilience. The body emerges as a liminal space: grounded yet transcendent, intimate yet collective, both vulnerable and defiant, always holding spirit and story.
