Spring Foraging Workshop with Wild Hudson Valley

    • Sun, 05/26/2024
  • 408 Lake Mills Road, Cairo, NY 12431

Join us for a captivating nature walk and workshop focused on seasonal wild edible plants. Discover the art of sustainable foraging, learn how to identify edible plants, explore their medicinal properties, and experience their unique flavors firsthand.

Beginning with an introduction to foraging fundamentals and ethical practices, we'll venture through meadows and woodlands, uncovering a diverse array of edible and medicinal plants along with their look-alikes. Upon returning, we'll sample some of our discoveries, enhancing our understanding of these natural treasures.

Please note that this workshop emphasizes sharing our passion for plants and the abundant natural world rather than harvesting substantial quantities of wild foods. While we may encounter plants or mushrooms not at their peak harvesting stage due to the variability of nature, we'll still identify them and discuss the best times for harvesting.

Advance registration is required for this event, and space is limited. Admission to this event is included in an Eco Camp reservation.
